Seventeen down, fourteen to go!

Well, four days of cold weather in a row and no stories of local councils running out of grit, wonders will never cease!

Took a bit of personal grit to drag myself out of bed when the alarm went off at 5 o’clock this morning but having done so I’m glad I did as, despite the fact that it was well below freezing, I enjoyed a rather nice 6 mile loop of the town! For some unknown reason my early morning runs never seem to have quite the pace of those later in the day so I was quite pleased with this one.

Planning another early start tomorrow and if the weather forecast is accurate, it should be considerably warmer than this morning – I live in hope!

About JovialGnome

Heavily into running 20 years ago with a PB of 1.42.00 in the Shrewsbury Half Marathon in 1985 and 3.48.49 in the Telford Marathon in 1986 - then for some reason I just stopped and have done little or no physical exercise between then and 2 or 3 years ago! I've now moved to Boston in Lincolnshire where I really enjoy looking after my 13 Ryeland ewes and 1 ram and am rejoicing in the distinct lack of hills! I suspect that sub 4 hour marathons are gone forever but hey, I'm having a great time trying!

  1. I don’t know how you can do early morning runs when it is so cold and dark! Bring on spring time!
