Today I had a job interview at 10.30 so, having booked the morning off work, actually had a lie-in until 6 o’clcock! I quite enjoyed a slightly longer run of just under 8 miles which has brought my Juneathon total up to 142k.
The interview was for the position of meter reader in the Skegness area with a company called Lowri Beck and though I say it myself, I thought it all went rather well. I’m not all that unhappy with the job I’m doing other than the fact that I am travelling 78 miles a day for the minimum wage and each month that goes by I am getting a little bit further into debt. The meter reader job not only pays better and is much closer but they pay 28p per mile for every mile you drive so you can imagine how happy I was when my interviewer called me back to offer me the job, did I still want it? Phrases like “is the Pope Polish German?” and “do the bears poo in the woods?” sprang to mind!
So there you have it, a whole new vista is opening up before me, excuse me whilst I go and write my resignation letter!
Congratulations! That’s great news.
Great stuff!
Deserves a celebratory half-marathon, I’d say!
Think I’ll probably settle for a celebratory parkrun!
