Getting up at silly o’clock has very much been the theme of this Juneathon for me and this morning was no exception. Five thirty saw me pounding the streets of Boston in the pouring rain and though it had abated somewhat by the time I got home, I was grateful for my London marathon rejects waterproof top! 4½ miles this morning bringing the total to 226k.
Today was my last day at Motorpoint in Peterborough and despite the fact that I’ve only been there 6 months I certainly had a very big lump in my throat when the time came to shake hands and say goodbye to everyone!
Before that time though both the yard and workshop staff enjoyed a splendid barbecue provided by the company. You may (or may not!) remember that a while back we went on a team-building afternoon with a company called Mad About. All of the branches, Derby, Newport, Glasgow, Burnley and us did it and part of the challenge was building some flat-pack shelves as a team in as short a time as possible and we at Peterborough won with a time of 25 seconds some 10 seconds quicker than Derby and so a couple of hours off and a barbecue was our reward – a very nice way to sign off from a job I did enjoy but didn’t enjoy the 70+ mile round trip every day!
Onwards and upwards, hoping for good things with Lowri Beck.
